Straight Talk Aphorisms for the Weathered Few.
Re: What I Mean by A Knowledge Commons
The Knowledge Commons is where we work out, share and hold our search for meaning in this tender transience of human being.
This meaning is tracked through our narratives, at first in oral, then scribed/printed and now in cyber expression.
The meaning we receive from our Knowledge Commons is made by us from within, not given from without. By “without,” I am referring to the deities-on-high given credit as source for our religious stories.
These explorations and their tracking, including, of course, those of science, are an intrinsic facet of human sparking working to reconcile the oft at odds and contradictory entwinements within us.
All together, these constitute our Knowledge Commons, collectively pulled into narrative form from our evolving consciousness, built through time & belonging to all, not to mention providing solace.
And in following the tracks we remember.
How to protect this sacred? How to give thanks?
